Road Construction

Construction Projects in 2017


Summer road work will improve the utility systems, traffic flow, pedestrian safety and preserve the roads. Expect traffic delays and road or lane closures starting in July.

The following is a brief description of the projects:

Lincoln Avenue


Overlay and Utility Improvements from Second Street to City Limits. Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) awarded the City pavement preservation funds for this project. The local Transportation Benefit District (TBD) provided matching funds for this grant. Construction will begin in July 2017. Project consists of grind and pavement overlay, sidewalk and ADA improvements, striping, storm improvements, traffic control and temporary road/lane closure.

First Street


Overlay and Utility Improvements from Cedar Avenue to Lincoln Avenue. State TIB awarded the City pavement preservation funds for this project. Local TBD provided matching funds for this grant. Construction will begin in July 2017. Project consists of grind and pavement overlay, sidewalk and ADA improvements, striping, storm improvements, traffic control and temporary road/lane closure.

Second Street


Sewer System Improvement on Second Street near Ludwig Road. Project consists of combined sewer overflow and trunkline installation, storm improvements, asphalt patch, paving, surface restoration, traffic control and temporary road/lane closure. Construction will begin in July 2017. Project will be funded by the City Storm and Sewer budgets.
  

89th Avenue SE


Water line improvements. Project consists of replacing approximately 780 linear feet of water pipe on 89th Avenue SE south of 16th Street, surface restoration, traffic control and temporary lane closure.

Wood Street/Cypress Avenue


Slope repair. Project consists of slope repair, watermain replacement, grind and pavement overlay, striping, surface restoration, traffic control and temporary lane closure. Construction will begin in July 2017.
